Announcing Gospel’s first virtual hackathon

Join us for two weeks of coding and a chance to win £1,000

What would you do if something that was completely impossible, was suddenly made possible? And what if reading this sentence makes you first in line to build something world changing on that tech?

Think of how you apply for and process a mortgage application online; how online sites apply for new credit cards on your behalf, or how data is shared between airports about passengers. This is extremely sensitive data that’s being shared within and between organisations, and ultimately you have no idea who has access to it and what happens to that data once it leaves your possession.

It’s 2020 and this archaic way of sharing sensitive data no longer makes the cut. Collaborating companies need a better way of providing customers total assurance, peace of mind, and proof that their sensitive data is fully secured, encrypted and protected –  no matter where it’s stored or who it’s shared with.

The world is moving towards a collaborative, compliant model where companies can work together more efficiently and effectively to create a better customer experience. Two heads are always better than one, and this need to collaborate more and more should be enabled, enforced and underpinned by technology that puts partnerships first. Built on trusted data.

Want to build an app that solves these challenges for your company?

Gospel is launching a two-week virtual hackathon for developers and enterprise users of all levels, industries and geographies to build their own app for secure data sharing in the cloud. By providing access to build your own app on top of Gospel’s secure, distributed database platform, you can start testing out your own use cases using our blockchain architecture on the backend. Free of charge.

We’ve created an entirely new Gospel-hosted sandbox environment for developers to get instant access to the platform at no cost, giving you the opportunity to create your own blockchain-based app from scratch. Use it to test your use cases, POCs, and enterprise applications, complete with a guided tour, demo videos, and support from our Slack community.

Let’s go build something

Participants will have the following simple deployment options:

  1. Deploy Gospel from Google Cloud Marketplace in your GCP environment
  2. Deploy from our sandbox environment – reach out to our Head of DevRel, Gus Maskowitz, at [email protected] for access

The code to get started can be found here.

The hackathon commences Monday, 17th February with final use case submissions due by Saturday, 29th February. The best use case for trusted data sharing will receive £1,000 worth of vouchers – on us! The winner will be emailed in early March.

We kindly ask that you not submit any inappropriate content, otherwise all the data in the sandbox will need to be deleted (including yours and everyone else’s). Please keep it clean!

Ready to get started?

Drop us a note and we’ll send you access to our sandbox environment and details on how to get started.

Join our Slack community for architecture design sessions and office hours. Our team is here to support you and help you build something great!
